Day 81. Bulahdelah, NSW

Thursday 5.5.22

Up and on the road by 7am this morning.  The weather was wet and windy. We by passed Wollongong and Sydney, going through the north connex tunnel. For this privilege they charged us $47.50, as a heavy commercial vehicle. There were plenty of trucks on the road but it was a fairly good run. Marks decided it's time to go home, hopefully before the predicted wet weather hits.

The North connex tunnel is 9kms long and goes up to 90m/300ft below ground. It opened 2 years ago and is Australia's deepest tunnel.

Stopped for breakfast beside the Haweksbury River.

Mark reminiscing about when he used to water ski up and down this river,  including under the bridge.

A drive through pie shop 🤔
After 380kms we've parked up behind the Bulahdelah bowls club. Lovely quiet spot for $12p.n. Ammenities available 24/7. They've had 25inches of rain in the last month everything is green and a bit soggy.

Dining room in the club. Meals were of a generous size.
