Sunday 1.5.22
Big day of exploring today. We decided to go to Canberra again today and visited Questacon science centre, International flag display, Peace Park, Australian of the year display and the War Memorial. We walked 15kms, my feet are exhausted.
**warning squillions & squillions of photos today **
Sphere floating on water.
This was a bit freaky, the eyes were following me.
Pumping air bubbles.
Ghostly me 😁👻
Different lenses.
Earthquake room. Felt a quake of 5.6 on the Richter scale.
Lightning cage. The poor man in the pic was electrocuted every 15 minutes.
Replicas of human skulls.
Female and male gorilla skulls.
Planet Mars.
A free fall slide.
Someone has defaced the Russian flag name plate.
Great year 😉
A few of the Australian of the year plaques since 1960.
Aboriginal tent embassy, old parliament house with new parliament house in the background.
Reconciliation place.
High court.
National portrait gallery, unfortunately time didn't permit us a chance to go in.
National library.
On the way to the National War Memorial.
We had pre booked an afternoon at the memorial, including attending the Last Post Ceremony.
This was where Marks grandfather was injured.
Pool of reflection.
It was a very moving ceremony honouring a fallen soldier. His family laid wreaths as did some other people remembering their loved ones.
