Day 41. Warrnambool, Victoria

Saturday 26.3.22

The caretaker has told us about some caves made from a lava flow many years ago. So we need to head back up the hwy first up this morning.

The caves are at Byaduk, 25kms north from our campground. So glad we went. They were excellent. Made from a lava flow. We made a treacherous climb down into the first cave.

Mark's down inside the sink hole and Gunther is somewhere in a cave below where I'm standing to take the photo.
That's me at the top.
Photos courtesy of Mark.

Yvonne and I changed out minds and decided to have a go at climbing down. Much easier going back up.

Beautiful ferns and moss growing in cave 1.

Dry stone wall made from volcanic rock.

Unusual plants that caught my attention in Macarthur.

Memorial rose garden.
We've hit the south coast. Beautiful Port Fairy. The wind and water was cold.

View from Battery Hill,  Port Fairy.

We've set up at the Surf Side caravan park in Warrnambool and there's a very strong, chilly wind blowing.

Outside the dentist.
Snapped this side of a mural as we drove past.

Today we travelled 150kms in total, 82 unhitched.
