Day 50. Rosebud.

Monday 4.3.22

Today we are going to Phillip Island for the day.

2.2km walk to the Forrest Caves and Red Rocks.

All the little black bits are tiny muscles.

140 stairs each way.

Phillip Island race track pics

Outside in the designated viewing area we saw the BMW'S on the track and some minis doing skill work.

We were treated to a free concert at lunchtime.
Cowes jetty and art work.

Unfortunately we weren't able to climb the beacon tower at Gossard Point.

Bit chilly and windy.

This way to the Mutton Bird rookeries. Didn't see any birds but lots of nests.
Found lots of these lovely creatures on the beach too before we moved on to the Nobbies discovery centre.

10 mins after we paid to see the penguin parade we spotted some under the board walk.
Cape Barron Geese were wandering around everywhere.
Penguin nests.

Took the board walk to the Nobbies and then on to a cave. The area is protected and you can't stray off the board walk.

Further around the coast.

Swamp Wallaby.
We sat on the left side.

Photos prohibited during the parade.

It was a huge day exploring, 8am to 9.30pm.
We travelled 295kms.
