Enjoyed a beautiful morning at the Dandenong Ranges Botanical Gardens, including the National Rhododendron Garden. Walked ~3.6kms
**warning there will be squillions of flower photos today**
The gardens were planted in 1961 and a bushfire destroyed most of it. So the trees behind me have been growing since 1963, the year I was born!
The colours of autumn are something I miss about living down here.
Astrinium
Flowers growing wild in the meadow.
Spectacular colours in the Vireya Rhododendrons
Hydrangea.
A lovely stone BnB in Olinda.
Fancy rest spot called a parklet.
Very colourful toilet block in Olinda.
After a bite to eat and a wander through Olinda we headed off to Lysterfield Lake for a walk.
The sign must be wrong! We actually walked 6.1kms in 1hr16m.
Short beaked echidna.
I remember swimming here on a very hot summers day many, many moons ago.
Tonight we had dinner with some long time friends of mine. Our boys were the best of mates in the early years. Unfortunately I forgot to take a selfie 🙄
Today we drove 90kms and walked 10kms.
